But our key measure is the pupil’s happy smile and good relations between all the members of the school community
Our graduates easily get admitted to Poland’s most elite colleges (secondary schools), such as Batory, Bednarska and Staszic in Warsaw.
Those who leave Poland to study or work abroad do not do so because of any complexes. They are creative and resourceful persons who take their lives in their own hands, and – incredible as it may sound – they return to us regularly to share their stories.
These things just can’t be measured, weighed and reported – they need to be experienced directly
Our academic achievements are easily measurable, though. In the last dozen years or so, our school has managed to uphold its place
in the highest stanine of 9 with regard to exam results,
which makes us
one of the best 4% of schools in all of Poland.
Our competition winners and finalists in various subjects are too numerous to list here. On average,
every third of our students scores successes in their selected subjects on the provincial or the nationwide level.
For nearly two decades we have remained the best school in the County of Piaseczno, with results comparable
to those of Warsaw’s top ten educational institutions.
All these awards, diplomas and achievements are more of a by-product than an end in themselves. We are convinced that this is precisely why we have more and more of such successes every year. When you learn for yourself, for your own pleasure – success comes as a mere bonus; admittedly a sweet and welcome one, but merely an addition. For our teachers, such bonuses come in the form of the Golden Cross of Merit presented to them by the President of the Republic of Poland, as well as Medals of the Commission of National Education (KEN). For the school, they are such titles as those of an:
“Ashoka Changemaker School, Educational Innovator of the Year, School with Class, and the Centre for Civic Education’s Certificate of Quality
WINNER OF THE PRESTIGIOUS GLOBAL COMPETITION
“EDUMISSION 2017”
The schools participating in this project were assessed by the most eminent educators and psychologists, such as Sir Ken Robinson (yes, this Ken!), Sugata Mitra, Peter Gray, Yaacov Hecht, and others. After initial selection, 20 schools from different parts of the world entered the main stage, presenting 20 exciting visions of education. No Bell’s concept won the hearts of both the jurors and the global online audience!
ASHOKA CHANGEMAKER SCHOOLS
Implemented by Ashoka, one of the world’s best known international foundations, this programme brings together 400 participating schools, of which only 58 are located in Europe. In Poland, it is a narrow elite of just six schools. The programme seeks out, brings together and supports schools that not only provide knowledge related to the various school subjects, but also develop social skills, emotional intelligence, creativity and openness to changes in their students.
SCHOOL WITH CLASS
Organised by the Centre for Civic Education uninterruptedly since 2002, this programme promotes wise and exciting education at school, one that makes pupils eager and willing to learn, while teachers are eager and enthusiastic about teaching. “School with Class” is a living community of teachers, students and parents collaborating with one another. It is never boring or sad, and it approaches pupils as human beings in their own right.
EDUCATIONAL INNOVATOR OF THE YEAR
Held by the Mazovian Teacher Training Centre under the patronage of the Chief Education Officer for Mazovia Province, this competition aims to promote schools that focus on innovations, creativity, and go beyond traditional models of teaching. Unconventional methods of work as well as modern visions of education are assessed and awarded.
MEDALS OF THE COMMISSION OF NATIONAL EDUCATION
Presented to persons who have significantly contributed to Polish education, especially as writers, teaching methodologists, syllabus and course book authors, as well as creators of educational aids.
