The dimension of space marks the limits of our education.
Our brain needs a proper kind of space to function well.
Space ought to motivate us to action and make us feel comfortable.
Space must allow for both active work and relaxation.
No Bell presents students with just this kind of space.
This is why at No Bell we extend learning space by allowing our pupils to use window sills, stability balls and state-of-the-art mobile school furniture. We do not tell them where they must work, but adapt our classrooms in such a way that one can work in every part of the room. Space is in no way divided into that available to the kids and the one reserved for the teacher. On the contrary, all space is open and accessible to our pupils, and all the educational aids are there for them to use, within a hand’s reach.
For Years 0 to 3 we have equipped our classrooms with creative furniture, replacing the clumsy and uncomfortable chairs and desks with special stability balls and light and safe, modern pulpits that can easily be converted into rocking modules or for many other purposes. They are also suited to work in pairs, threes, and larger groups.
